FLOOD RESILIENCE: SELF SUSTAIN

SITE LOCATION ISSUE

The property is situated on the southern coast of Thailand, which is vulnerable to tropical storm in the near future. The site is situated on an open plain vulnerable to storm surge, with no existing structures nearby to block the flood.

CONCEPT

The idea is to increase the vulnerable house’s ability to withstand floods caused by storm surges. Also, to be able to stay afloat while the flood is taking place. The house is built to be self-sustaining and capable of protecting expensive items, in this case a car. Last but not least, to serve as a place where the rescue can assist the people.
